Rev. Fr. Tommie Gibbons, who died suddenly at his residence, Castlebar Street, Newport, on Tuesday last, was a native of Fauleens, Newport He was a former Professor at St. Jarlath's College, Tuam, and subsequently served as curate in a number of parishes in the Diocese of Tuam. including Claremorris, Belcarra, Anaghdown and as Chaplain at Castlemagarret Nursing Home. He retired three years ago. His remains will be removed from the County Hospital, Castlebar, on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and after 12 p.m. Mass on Friday, burial will take place in Burrishoole cemetery. He is survived by his brothers, Geoffrey and Tony, and by his sister Sal, nephews, nieces and numerous relatives.
