THE death has taken place at Merlin Park Hospital Galway, of Sister Kevin Gibbons, Convent of Mercy, Ballyhaunis. She was a retired Domestic Science teacher and was a native of Tiernaur, Newport. She entered the Convent in Westport in September, 1938 and, having qualified as a Domestic Science teacher, taught in the Sacred Heart School, Westport from 1946 to 1957. In July, 1957, she transferred to the Convent of Mercy, Ballyhaunis and taught there until 1969 when she was forced to retire due to ill health.

She is deeply mourned by her sisters, Mrs. Nora Lineen and Mrs. Liz Rattery, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, the Sisters of Mercy Community and many friends and past pupils both in Westport and Ballyhaunis.

Removal was from the hospital to the Convent of Mercy, Ballyhaunis and later to Ballyhaunis Parish Church where concelebrated Requiem Mass was offered for the repose of her soul.

Burial took place afterwards in Ballyhaunis Cemetery. Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anam.
